Mary Watkins

Composer Mary D. Watkins and WomenArts Executive Director Martha Richards will be interviewed on The Morning Blend with Irene Thornton, a radio show on WEIB 106.3 FM,  on Thursday, April 3 at 8:30 am.

They will talk about how Mary’s motivations for creating her opera, Dark River: The Fannie Lou Hamer Story, and the upcoming performances in Chapin Auditorium at Mount Holyoke College, this Friday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 5 at 3 p.m.    Martha Richards will discuss WomenArts’ community outreach efforts in response to the recent racial incidents at Amherst Regional High School and elsewhere.

Irene Thornton is giving away free tickets to the opera all week on The Morning Blend, 6 am – 10 am on WEIB 106.3 FM.
