We Are Here Festival

Cali & Co are featured at the “We Are Here!” Festival

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The We Are Here! Festival (WAH! Fest) will provide a dynamic platform for diverse women choreographers, musicians and visual artists creating contemporary work through a feminist lens this Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1 at San Francisco’s Dance Mission Theater.

Presented by CALI & CO dance/Matt EL music in partnership with Dance Mission Theater, the We Are Here! Festival was created to answer the question “Where are all the women choreographers and dance directors?”  WAH! Fest will feature 10 women choreographers picked through a juried selection process, as well as 9 musicians, 3 panel discussions, 3 visual artists, and one site-specific work, Heather Arnett’s Cat Call Choir, a sardonic musical response to the street harrassment that women frequently experience, performed in the alleyway of Dance Mission.

WAH! Fest will donate 30% of their ticket sales to the Bay Area’s Homeless Children’s Network and San Francisco Safehouse.  Tickets are $20 advance/$25 at the door. Purchase tickets and check out the full schedule>>
