This exhibition challenges mainstream notions of power and ownership with feminist alternatives for conscious empowerment. With a focus on ordinary acts of self-will, passivity, resistance and what happens in-between, OWNING IT is a reaction to binary systems which require the marginalization of many for the benefit of a few.

OWNING IT is presented in tandem with UNL’s Women’s Week. The multimedia group exhibition will be hosted at UNL’s Love Library gallery March 5 – 31, 2016. An ongoing public screening of artwork will also take place at The Cube – an enormous digital canvas in downtown Lincoln’s railyard. This exhibition invites discourse from regional and national artists to co-mingle with the greater Lincoln community. OWNING IT is for everyone.
