The Beat Museum, in partnership with the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins, brings back legendary poets to riff alongside jazz composers and musicians for the second annual series of Celebrating the Beats at Top of the Mark.

Enjoy specialty cocktails and bites alongside a poetry and jazz jam every Tuesday night in April, 2016 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

COPUS – an acronym for Creation Of Peace Under Stars – is a spoken word/jazz ensemble formed by composer/pianist Wendy Loomis and poet Royal Kent.  The group also includes flutist Monica Williams, bassist Patrick Mahon, and drummer Greg McRay.  COPUS recently released its latest CD “Aspects”; track ‘Haves & Have Nots’ from the CD was nominated for best jazz song by the Hollywood Music and Media Awards.  “COPUS could become legendary if given the opportunity to thrive!” ~Michael Allison, MusicDish.com
