Performance artist Marcy B. Freedman joins the musicians of SKIN AGAINST METAL to present a program of words and music in honor of Women’s History Month.

During the past year Freedman was engaged in a project to explore “the pros and cons of aging, when you are female.”   As the leader of six group discussion sessions, with participants ranging in age from 55 to 93, Freedman encouraged the participants to share their positive and negative feelings as openly as possible.  The resulting conversations were amazing, and Freedman was inspired to write a monologue that will be presented for the first time in WOMEN RISING, Scars and All.

Her collaborators, Nanette Garcia and Maurice Minichino of SKIN AGAINST METAL will provide an ambient soundscape as well as musical interludes to enhance the experience of all who attend.
