DC SWAN Day: Poets On The Fringe

“Poets on the Fringe/POTF” meets once a week on Wednesday’s, from 7pm to 9pm, at the Georgetown Neighborhood Library in Washington, DC. Everyone in the group comes from a different background and has a unique style in which they speak a language of hope, fear, delight, sadness, intrigue, and passion. Topics range from the personal to political: educational, philosophical, historical, sensual, spiritual, healing, death, family, beauty, violence; the human race! POTF has published three books, done a video series for the GTN Library’s website and participated in Public Readings at the GTN Neighborhood Library, Politics & Prose, Bus Boys & Poets, Kensington Bookstore & Day of the Book, Iota Bar & Restaurant, Zed’s Café and the Lorton Workhouse Art Center. Additionally, POTF poets have published their own books and are featured online & in many other publications around the USA.
On Saturday, March 25, 2017, Guillotine Theatre and Women in Film and Video will host the 10th Annual DC SWAN Day, an all-day event in Lower Georgetown, DC SWAN Day will feature Staged Readings of works by women playwrights at Grace Church (1041 Wisconsin Ave, NW WDC 20007), Film Screenings and a Collaborative Art Event at Hickok Cole Architects (1023 31st St NW, WDC 20007).
