Ivoryton Playhouse will present four readings of plays chosen for the initiative on Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4.  On Saturday, the The Connecticut Chapter of the League of Professional Theatre Women will sponsor a panel and reception as part of the Women Playwrights Initiative moderated by Shellen Lubin.

Lubin, who is directing one of the readings, is president of the Women in the Arts & Media Coalition and vice president of programming for the League of Professional Theatre Women. She works professionally as a director, songwriter/playwright, and vocal/acting coach. Her reflections on living as an artist and living with artistry have been featured in five philosophical cover pieces for Back Stage Publications and are read each week by thousands in her Monday Morning Quotes (www.mondaymorningquotes.com). She is an elected member of the National Theatre Conference (SDC, DG, BMI, AEA, SAG-AFTRA).

Playwrights on the panel include Susan Cinoman (Guenevere), E.M.Lewis (Apple Season), Gloria B. Clunie (Buck Naked) and Margot Lasher (Intake).

The panel and reception are free, but an RSVP IS REQUIRED.

The panel will be held at 5 pm Saturday, March 4 and will be followed by the reception at 6 pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to mingle with the panelists and other women in theater from Connecticut. This will serve as our regional gathering.event.
