Frances Blakemore Asian Art Grants

Grants to tax-exempt organizations in the United States such as museums, universities and other educational or art-related institutions for programs, exhibits or publications that improve the understanding of Asian fine arts in the United States. Applications for 2013 art grants will be accepted by invitation only.

Asian Cultural Council

Individual fellowships: any gifted individual artist or scholar who seeks to grow in his or her craft or field can apply for funding to conduct research and study, receive specialized training, undertake observation tours, or pursue non-commercial creative activity in the United States or among the countries of Asia. When awarding individual grants, the ACC devotes special attention to arranging programs tailored specifically to the needs and professional objectives of each grantee.
Organization Grants: funding arts, educational, and cultural organizations for projects of exceptional importance to the fostering of cultural dialogue between Asia and the United States or devoted to regional exchange among the countries of Asia.
Individual fellowship funding takes priority over grants to organizations.
The ACC has offices in New York, Taipei, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Manila.

Japan Foundation

The mission of the Japan Foundation is to promote international cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and other countries. The Japan Foundation activities, aiming for comprehensive and effective development of its international cultural exchange programs, consist of following three major categories, one of which is Arts & Cultural Exchange. A wide variety of opportunities are available, mostly for institutions.

US/Japan Creative Artists’ Program

Three-month residencies in Japan for artists working in a variety of disciplines.

American Institute of Indian Studies

Senior Performing and Creative Arts Fellowships: available to accomplished practitioners of the performing arts of India and creative artists who demonstrate that study in India would enhance their skills, develop their capabilities to teach or perform in the U.S., enhance American involvement with India’s artistic traditions, and strengthen their links with peers in India.
