What Is Real? Open Call for Multi-Media Artists

March 31, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Open call for Women Artists to collaborate in a multi-medium art show in support of the SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Movement!

Local Staten Island artists collaborate to celebrate and advocate the SWAN Day movement (Support Women Artist Now) on Saturday March 31, 2018 at Hub 17, 73 Wave Street, Staten Island, New York from 6 to 9 P.M. Showcasing a collection of various artworks to answer the question “What is Real?”

We have an open call for female identifying artists for the “What is Real? Art show on March 31 from 6 – 9:30 p.m. at Hub 17,  73 Wave Street, Staten Island, New York.

We are looking for visual art works with a maximum size of 14 inches by 16 inches.  There will also be tables available for small sculptures, prints and jewelry.

There will be a $10 hanging fee for the works we accept.  We will greatly appreciate contributions of food and drink to share at the event.

Artists have always banded together to create and inspire one another during duress of political upheaval and injustices.  Artists create works of art that reflect and combat the current political atmosphere. They use their talents to express themselves, what they are feeling and to contradict these negative trends hence inspiring the “What is Real?” SWAN DAY Art show.  Support Women Artists Now Day/SWAN Day is an annual international celebration of women’s creativity and gender parity activism held on the last Saturday of March.

Organized and curated by local artists and community advocate Anne Marie Grillasca, Renowned Stained Glass Artist Patti Kelly and Multimedia Artist Stephanie Kosinski.

Featured Artists include:

  • J Montana
  • Astrid Baran
  • Meg Graham
  • Patti Kelly
  • Stephanie Kosinski

Additional artists to be announced upon confirmation.

The show will feature a live stream performance by renowned artist and pianist ELi GArf from Japan.
