SWAN Day Los Angeles 2018
March 17, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
| FreeJoin us for an afternoon of SWAN Day Micro-reads on the theme of Change on Saturday, March 17 from 1 – 3:30 at the Samuel French Bookshop.
The Los Angeles Female Playwrights Initiative is hosting SWAN Day Los Angeles 2018, where we’ll “Support Women Artists NOW!” by connecting women playwrights & directors and actors in a SWAN Day Micro-Read Hook-Up!
We have assembled a team of women directors who will be working with a group of actors to stage 1-page plays for what should be a fun day with our friends at Sam French, putting female artists to work for Special Micro-Reads with theme of “CHANGE!”
1pm – Connections over shared snacks and bevs. (Bring something sip or nibble on… wine = yes!)
2pm – Micro-Reads begin.
All are invited; the afternoon is festive and FREE!
Submit your Micro-Reads – Here are the Guidelines:
lafpi.com/about/micro-reads/
FEMALE PLAYWRIGHTS: Submit your Micro-Read (1 page 400 words or less) on the theme to lafpi.updates@gmail.com. Only 1 play per playwright, please; and you need to be in attendance so we can support one another up close and personal.
Note: We will only accept the first 15 submissions... but we’ll probably have time for 5-10 more day-of which directors will cast on the fly.
Can’t wait to spend time with you all, supporting Women Artists and raising our voices for CHANGE!
