The FIFTH annual Swan Day Chicago will celebrate the mixed media expertise of Katrice Buckley, Tarynn Jackson, Jaelen Isis, Tyler Clark and Zitiali Yunuhem.

Whatupwindy.com and ILA started our celebratory events April 2014 and have continued this annual event in hopes of bringing more awareness to women in the arts in Chicago. This is also a charitable event and a percentage of ticket sales will go toward SkyArt , a non-profit visual arts organization for the youth on Chicago’s southside. In a city where arts programming is scarce and barely funded, SkyArt makes a huge difference in sparking the creativity of Chicago’s youth.

SWAN Day is an international holiday designed to showcase the power and diversity of women’s creativity. SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day commences worldwide at the end of March through the end of April; hence our interest in hosting the Chicago event between that time frame. We have been curating this wonderful and joyous showcase since 2014 and since this is our 5th anniversary, we hope to see you celebrate with us! This year we will feature some of Chicago’s most sought-after women mixed media artists.

Sounds will be by your favorite, DJ Gemini Jones.

Vendors will include: At Her Leisure, Salubria Holistic Beauty, Afroxnaut, Aplomb Vintage and Projecct Wrap.
