Opening Reception of recent works by Lisa Nigro and Karola Rotter at Zollie Glass Gallery in conjunction with the “Erotica” event at Brick at Blue Star Arts Complex. Lisa and Karola are both sculptors and painters. Lisa creates works that borrow from mythology, utilize human anatomy, and often address women’s issues in a patriarchal society; she has been a part of the Burning Man culture for many years. Karola is from Germany and her art explores the limits of existence and how we experience it through self-awareness. In her confrontations with anxiety and uncertainty, her work exposes the measures sometimes taken to create our own reality. Produced by San Antonio Contemporary Art Month (CAM!)
