Join the women of Conspiracy of Venus for a live performance of their very first record!

Under the artistic direction of Joyce Todd McBride, Conspiracy of Venus interprets her daring and inventive vocal covers of contemporary music, ranging from Joni Mitchell, David Bowie, and Stevie Wonder to Tom Waits, Bjork, and The Pixies, as well as McBride’s own original works.

In July of 2014, with the help of 440 fans and supporters, Conspiracy of Venus raised $26,000 through a crowdfunding campaign to finance the recording of their debut album at Fantasy Recording Studios in Berkeley. In November, they began laying down tracks with a talented ensemble of guest musicians. Now the recordings are mastered and the CDs will be hot off the presses. It’s time to celebrate!

Join Conspiracy of Venus for this exclusive performance with accompaniment by many of the musicians that participated in the studio recordings, including Tommy Kesecker, Stacy Starkweather, and David Rokeach, as well as an opening set by their brothers in song, Conspiracy of Beards, a choir of 30 men who sing the poetic songs of Leonard Cohen.
